Guitar Chords: Add9 Chords (printable)
An add9 chord is built from a major triad (1, 3, 5) and a ninth interval. Notice that the add9 chord is different from other ninth chords, dominant 9th, minor dominant 9, minor 9, in that it doesn’t contain a seventh. An “add” chord is a chord in which the named interval is added to a triad, unlike an extended chord which contains a 7th.
